Weekly meetings continue at the Western U.P. Convention & Visitor Bureau office as the first ever Sledfest draws closer. Set for the 4th-13th of January 2008, the ten day event will kick off opening weekend with the return of one of the most popular snowmobile races of the late 60’s 70’s, and early 80’s:  the Ironwood Olympus.  As it was decades ago, this will once again be the first sanctioned USSA points race of the season and take place on the half mile flat track at the Gogebic County Fairgrounds in Ironwood.

Pro-Vintage Racing, a Vintage Snowmobile Show and Snowmobile Swap Meet will all be a part of Sledfest’s opening weekend. Food, exhibits, displays and more be a part of the festivities as the premier Sledfest begins the new year.

Saturday will feature a Social Evening at the Hurley Inn,  just across the river in neighboring Hurley, WI. Cocktails, Buffet Dinner, Awards and Music will add to the nostalgic night.
